L-R: Kady O'Connell, Áine Quirke, Oisín Tobin and Hannah Perry

Unusually turbulent times in the technology sector have generated significant work across a range of areas, from dispute resolution to employment along with our more traditional data privacy and corporate work. To support this continued growth, we have announced the appointment of three new Technology partners: Áine Quirke, Hannah Perry and Kady O’Connell.

Áine Quirke advises some of the world’s leading tech and social media companies on all aspects of GDPR compliance. Her practice focuses on counselling clients on the roll-out of new and emerging technologies and products. Áine also works closely with clients on regulatory investigations and enforcement actions taken by data protection authorities.

Hannah Perry is known for providing pragmatic solutions to complex privacy issues and acts as lead product counsel for the world’s top technology, e-commerce and crypto companies. She advises on all aspects of privacy and technology, from privacy by design to cybersecurity, AI and international data transfers and specialises in building scalable, multi-faceted privacy programmes for fast-growth companies. Hannah’s variety of expertise and background in human rights brings a unique depth of understanding and exposure to her advice.

Kady O’Connell provides strategic and commercial advice to international and domestic clients across all aspects of employment law. She has extensive experience providing counsel to international technology companies on restructuring strategies as well as employment due diligence and on complex TUPE related matters. Kady is known by clients for her ability to navigate sensitive HR issues, including workplace investigations and dismissals. She is an experienced litigator and regularly appears before the Workplace Relations Commission, the Labour Court, and the civil courts.

Oisín Tobin, Partner and Head of the Technology Sector team, said: “The Technology sector team at Mason Hayes & Curran is consistently recognised as a leader in the Irish market and beyond, ranked in the top tier of legal advisers by international directories including Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500. These appointments further underscore our commitment to evolving with the sector and continuing to deliver the highest levels of advice and service to the world’s leading tech and data driven companies.”

Áine Quirke commented: “I am really delighted to join the partnership and continue my work with the Privacy & Data Security team. I look forward to continuing to help clients solve complex privacy issues and navigate a challenging regulatory environment.”

Hannah Perry said: “I’m honoured to join the partnership, which wouldn’t have been possible without the support of, and endorsement from, our fantastic clients. As we enter the new age of data, and technologies like AI and augmented reality continue to gather momentum, I am looking forward to helping our clients traverse the tricky legislative landscape in this rapidly evolving area.”

Kady O’Connell added: “Over the last number of years we have seen a significant increase in laws, regulations and transactions in the sector. I welcome the opportunity to work with public and private sector clients to navigate the evolving employment landscape and overcome even the most complex challenges.”

Mason Hayes & Curran is the fastest growing law firm in Ireland and now employs over 580 people, including 119 partners, with offices in Dublin, San Francisco, London and New York.
