We are pleased to announce our involvement in the establishment of new Dublin-based leasing company, IAT Leasing Limited (IAT) . We provided Irish employment, tax, corporate and finance advice for the set-up of IAT.
Co-founded by industry experts Martin Browne, Magnus Stephensen, Kari Karason and Sigthor Einarsson, IAT has leveraged its principals’ track record in sourcing and structuring high-quality aircraft leasing transactions. It enjoys shareholder support from Icelease, a well established aircraft trading firm founded in 2005.
Speaking about IAT’s initial transactions which just completed, David McGovern, Partner and Head of Aviation and International Asset Finance noted “We provided Irish law advice regarding the acquisition and financing of two Boeing 737-800 aircraft on operating leases with Air Europa. We were delighted to support IAT in meeting its strategic goals. These transactions illustrate Ireland’s position as a global hub for aircraft leasing and financing".
This was also IAT's first transaction on behalf of funds managed by global alternative investment manager, Taconic Capital Advisors.
