New Health & Prosecutions Partner, Fiona McNulty
We are pleased to expand our Health & Prosecutions team with the promotion of Fiona McNulty to partner.
Fiona advises technology companies and other large organisations on their obligations in criminal and regulatory matters. Her extensive expertise in criminal law, from both a prosecution and defence perspective, allows her to provide balanced, insightful advice. She guides clients through complex legal challenges, including responding to search warrants, ‘dawn raid’ inspections and investigations by An Garda Síochána.
Fiona’s recent work includes advising a technology company on the applicability of Irish road traffic legislation to new technology products. She also represented a Fintech client in a mutual legal assistance request before the Irish courts.
With substantial experience advocating for healthcare clients, Fiona also delivers effective, tailored legal strategies that protect clients' interests. She has considerable expertise in the areas of wardship and assisted decision-making, and is appointed to the Decision Support Service panel of decision-making representatives. She acts for the Health Service Executive in Mental Health Act applications for minors.
Fiona successfully acted on behalf of a children’s hospital in a significant Supreme Court decision on the constitutional rights of children and families.
Brian Horkan, Head of our Health & Prosecutions team, commented: “Fiona's promotion to partner is a clear reflection of her exceptional skill set and dedicated approach to her practice. Her expert handling of complex legal matters further strengthens our team and enhances our ability to deliver innovative, client-focused solutions."
Fiona McNulty said: “My work covers two very different client types but with similar needs. I work closely with corporate clients when they receive warrants, witness summons or other similar legal requests. These can be very daunting, especially if they are not familiar with criminal law procedures, so my role is to help clients manage them in an efficient, compliant manner. I also advise clients in the healthcare sector to avoid disputes where possible, but also to prepare and present cases in court when needed.”
Fiona is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin. She sits on the Council of the Law Society of Ireland, on the board of the Irish Family Planning Association, and is a long-standing committee member of the Irish Women Lawyer’s Association.
