Groups of young people who visited the firm as part of a careers session for Youth Horizons

Welcome to the latest edition of our MHC Moments series, where we shine a spotlight on the contributions our people make to our community and the experiences that make us who we are.

Our three year €1.2m Engage and Educate fund supports game changing educational opportunities for marginalised communities. As well as providing financial and mentoring supports formally through the fund, we are proud to also support our awardees through a number of practical, hands-on initiatives.

In May we hosted a digital marketing workshop for the four fund awardees, along with our partners in Rethink Ireland. The awardees are:

This session was provided by the firm’s marketing team and focused on how charities and non-profit organisations can effectively use LinkedIn to promote their cause, share their mission and showcase their impact.

Our HR team was also pleased to welcome a group of students from Youth Horizons to our offices on Barrow Street.

Youth Horizons, situated in West Tallaght, works with young people who have struggled in mainstream education and offers them a second chance to complete the Leaving Certificate.

During the visit, several of our people shared details about their career journeys both in law and business roles. While we are of course a law firm, there are a multitude of roles within a large organisation, and we aimed to demonstrate that breadth of opportunity.

The students were interested and commented on how the office and the people were different to what they had expected. It was great to meet with this group and see how Youth Horizons is empowering these students through education to achieve their potential.

Thanks to all our volunteers from across the firm for sharing their time and experience.
