New €1.5 Million Connected Communities Fund

In partnership with Rethink Ireland and the Department of Rural & Community Development, we have launched the €1.5 million Connected Communities Fund to foster inclusive, resilient communities and strengthen social cohesion across Ireland.

The new three-year fund is open to organisations committed to scaling innovations that bring people together, promote belonging, and empower marginalised communities. The fund, which will be run by Rethink Ireland, provides cash grants and business support to not-for-profits working in communities nationwide.

The fund aims to advance inclusivity, enhance media literacy and community awareness, and support initiatives that encourage meaningful connections across diverse groups.

Eligible organisations across Ireland are encouraged to apply by visiting rethinkireland.ie/open-funds. The closing date for applications is 1pm on Friday, 4 April.

Up to five organisations will receive cash grants, access to Rethink Ireland’s Accelerator Programme for scaling social innovations, and a tailored package of business and capacity-building supports.

Previously, we partnered with Rethink Ireland on four consecutive Engage & Educate funds, which successfully expanded access to education for marginalised groups including migrants, former prisoners, those facing socioeconomic barriers and the Traveller community.

The Connected Communities Fund is made possible through the collaboration of Rethink Ireland, Mason Hayes & Curran and the Department of Rural and Community Development via the Dormant Accounts Fund.
