We are pleased to have acted for Irish solar developer BNRG and asset manager Impax in achieving financial close on the development of three solar farms, with a combined peak capacity of 43MW.

The project, backed by equity from BNRG and Impax Asset Management alongside non-recourse senior debt from Société Générale, represents a significant milestone in sustainable development. It includes two solar farms located in County Kildare and another in Cork, which are due to be operational next year.

The three farms were successful in the second auction of the Government’s Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS), securing state support until 2040.

Muireann Hernon, Financial Services and Energy Partner, led our advisory team and said: "The successful financial close of this portfolio is a fantastic achievement for our clients. The development of these farms supports Ireland’s Climate Action Plan and will play an important part in achieving our renewable energy targets.”

Eoin Cassidy, Energy Sector Lead Partner, added: “We are delighted to support this significant project. At peak capacity, the three farms combined will provide enough renewable power to supply 10,000 homes a year. This initiative makes a substantial contribution to Ireland’s renewable energy portfolio and helps to foster a more sustainable and resilient energy future."

Our team also included Partners Peter McLay, David Gunn and Alan Burns, Senior Associate Andrew Gill, Associates Jamie Macdonald, Fiona Kearns, Cormac O’Brien and Sarah Pickard, and trainee Ross Merriman.
