Engage & Educate Fund - Impact Report

The Engage & Educate Fund was a €1.2 million, three-year fund created by Rethink Ireland in partnership with Mason Hayes & Curran and the Department of Rural and Community Development via the Dormant Accounts Fund, which ran from 2021 - 2024.

The objective of the fund was to support innovative projects that empower young people and adults through education, enabling people from marginalised communities to access game-changing education programmes.

The fund was a continuation of three previous Engage & Educate funds from 2017 to 2019, which supported 14 projects that sought to empower people through education to achieve their full potential and to contribute to the community. The fund awarded €150,000 in cash grants over three years to each of the four projects. In addition, up to €30,000 in non-financial support was granted to each awardee over this period.

The Impact Report highlights the fund's vital role in advancing educational opportunities for marginalised communities, empowering individuals to reach their full potential and make meaningful contributions to society.

In 2025, we launched our new Connected Communities fund, which will run for 3 years and is valued at €1.2m, half of which is provided by Mason Hayes & Curran.
