Catherine Allen, Partner and Head of our Public, Regulatory & Investigations team, recently delivered a keynote address at Future Health Summit 2024.

This flagship event took place at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre on May 29-30. It brought more than 600 Irish and international healthcare leaders together to showcase innovation and best practice in healthcare.

"Good governance isn't just a buzzword. It's the foundation for a system that prioritises patient safety and builds public trust."

Catherine spoke as part of the Governance session, with a focus on good governance in healthcare investigations.

She said: “Good governance isn't just a buzzword. It's the foundation for a system that prioritises patient safety and builds public trust.

This collaborative effort requires transparent decision making, clear accountability structures, and an unwavering commitment to ethical practices.

As healthcare professionals, you are all the linchpins of this system. If you apply evidence-based practices and ensure responsible resource allocation, you directly enhance the quality of care, you mitigate risks, and you ultimately improve patient outcomes.”

In the run up to the event, Catherine was interviewed by the Irish Times on the topic of good governance in healthcare investigations. Read more about the interview, or find out more about our healthcare team.
