Product & Consumer Protection Annual Review 2024

Welcome to our Product & Consumer Protection Annual Review 2024. In the six months since the publication of our Mid-Year Review, advancement in the EU product and consumer protection law landscape has continued apace.
We review some of the key developments during the year and look ahead to future reform for 2025. In this Review, we will consider key issues such as:
- The implications of the revised Product Liability Directive and the proposed Artificial Intelligence Liability Directive for economic operators of consumer products.
- The application of the EU’s General Product Safety Regulation to standalone software.
- Due diligence requirements and achieving sustainability in the value chain.
- Guidance for businesses about preparing an accessibility statement as part of their obligations under the European Accessibility Act (EAA) before the June 2025 deadline.
As we look to 2025, we discuss these issues and much more and hope you enjoy the fifth edition of our Annual Product & Consumer Protection Review.
