We hosted our Employment Law Top Tips webinar focusing on AI in the Workplace in September.
The much-anticipated EU AI Act came into force on 1 August 2024. The AI Act will treat HR AI systems performing recruitment, performance management, work allocation and termination related tasks as high-risk AI systems. Such systems will be subject to a significant compliance lift not unlike that applied to medical devices. While the vast majority of obligations will fall on the providers of these systems, business users will also have new obligations which will require resources and new processes.
We discuss what this means for your business and help you leverage AI effectively while minimising legal risks. We look at the interaction with existing employment equality legislation, the impact on employees’ right to privacy and the evolving case law in this area.
We also consider the beneficial uses of AI in the workplace, in making HR processes and functions more efficient.
