We hosted a webinar looking at Child Protection Procedures for Primary Schools on Tuesday 1 June at 3pm.
The Department of Education published comprehensive Child Protection Procedures for Schools in 2017.
This was a game changer for schools in that all teachers became mandated persons. In turn Boards of Management were tasked with strict oversight and compliance obligations which included dealing with allegations or suspicions of abuse against employees.
The MHC Education team reflected on the challenges experienced by school leaders over the last 4 years and discussed different scenarios.
