Ireland is a leading jurisdiction for incorporating debt issuance Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) used in structured finance and capital markets transactions.
The Central Bank of Ireland produces regular statistical reports in relation to the number of SPVs domiciled in Ireland and the quantum and variety of assets they hold. The Central Bank's data shows that at the end of last year, Irish SPVs represented over 30% of euro area securitisation vehicles and over 26% of euro area assets of such vehicles.
